So you have the absolute premium armies with the Shadow Stalkers, Succubi plus Lord/Hero. Some of the Rogue spells are just perfect synergy, like casting Blind / Smoke Screen and your Shadow Stalkers will have a field day against anything relying on range damage (Sorceror etc). All those seduced units can be thrown in auto-combat against enemy cities or mythical landmarks to soften them up, then walk in with the real army and finish them off. Then you also add 1-2 Succubi for silly ranged damage and passive debuff, slowing / debuffing with Throw Curse, and of course seducing everything. Also they have extreme mobility with movement range and Shadow Step.Īnd while you only pay upkeep for T3 units, these should be ranked at T4/5. And frozen targets always get flanked+backstabbed, so it is common to kill any T4 unit in 1-2 attacks.īesides doing a crapton of damage anyways, especially with backstab/flanking and an extra damage channel. If that doesn't freeze then you also rely on the active freezing at gold rank. Their main mechanic is the double freeze effect from having Frost Aura (Dark Pact) + Inflict Freezing Cold (Gold Medal), so whatever they attack is forced to retaliate and hit the frost aura. Most notably they are immune to Stun, Freeze, Fear and most other stuff which makes many units so dangerous (Apprentice, Eldritch Horror, Dragon, Reaper etc). Shadow Stalkers are incorporeal with only heavy resistances / immunities, but no weaknesses. Dark Pact is entirely unique, since all other endgame upgrades are strategic spells (which the AI will always try to disjunct), but this is a simple permanent empire upgrade. So the thing with the Scoundrels evolving and all that is nice, especially if you can get the Mercenary bonus on them, done that many times myself.īut if you research straight for Succubus > Shadow Stalker > Dark Pact you can clear the whole map with zero resistance afterwards. Why? Because Shadow Stalkers with Dark Pact defeat practically everything in 1v1, except Reapers. Rogue is probably the best class across the board, next to Necromancer.
